This new knowledge will allow you to have cold drinks and breathe
in cold air with comfort -- immediately and forever!
If someone you love has sensitivity to cold foods, sweets, the touch
of a toothbrush, or even breathing in cold air, we can help. Dr.
Kurthy has now developed an incredible treatment that is quick, easy,
and only takes seconds to apply. In 2002, he published his incredible
new technique in Dentistry Today, the most widely-read dental
journal in the world.
If you have sensitive teeth, you’re not alone. It is estimated
that between the ages of 20 and 45, one in every four people has sensitive
teeth. People with this condition, known as dentinal hypersensitivity,
may be unable to sip cold drinks or eat cold foods with comfort; they
may have pain when they eat sweets or fruits; the touch of their toothbrush
can send them through the roof; and running or playing in cold weather
may cause aching of their teeth. The condition may affect all
of the teeth or just one or two, and it may be significant or very mild.
Our teeth have millions of microscopic holes in the surface of the tooth
root. The photograph to the left, taken through an electron microscope,
shows these holes on the surface of the tooth. If these holes
are plugged up with microscopic particles from our saliva, then we
do not have sensitive teeth -- but some of us have holes that are wide-open
for one reason or another as seen in the photo. Inside of these
holes are microscopic fibers from the tooth nerve. When cold,
touch, sweet, sour, or other changes occur in our mouths, it can cause
pain. After a while, this pain can even become so bad that it
can wake us up at night with a throbbing toothache.
The worst news is that long-term irritation of the tooth nerve can result
in thousands of tiny stones forming inside the main nerve of the tooth,
eventually killing the nerve. If this happens, root canal treatment
becomes necessary.
For
years dentists have tried several types of treatment with minimal success.
But finally there is some good news about dentin sensitivity. There
is a new procedure that can totally eliminate typical dentin sensitivity
in minutes. Not only is the treatment quick, but it's easy and
inexpensive. There is no drilling, no Novocain shots, and no
pain whatsoever involved in the treatment. In the photo to the
left, you will see this revolutionary new product being applied to
a sensitive tooth. All we do is rub it on with a little ball
of cotton.
Dr. Kurthy published his technique in the 20th Anniversary Issue of Dentistry
Today, the most widely-read dental journal in the world, in November,
2002.
Below, the diagram on the left shows a cross-section of these open (patent)
tubules. You will also see that the 4-META molecules of the desensitizing
agent being attracted to the tooth surface and inside the tubules, effectively
closing the tubules and eliminating the dentinal hypersensitivity

Below you will see photos taken through an electron microscope -- one
of the tooth surface and one of a cross-section. This time you
see the surface of a tooth where the microscopic holes have been totally
plugged.
Once these tubules are plugged, the nerve fibers are protected from
cold, sweets, etc., and can feel no pain. Studies confirm that
97% of patients experience immediate and total relief with just one treatment. The
other 3% that do not have total relief usually have some other problem
such as a crack in the tooth under a filling.
If you suffer from chronic tooth sensitivity, don't wait until you have
a true toothache and possibly need a root canal -- come have your sensitivity
stopped now. Remember, even mild or periodic sensitivity can do
damage after a while. Why wait, now that we have such a quick,
easy, inexpensive, and effective treatment?
Seeing is believing.
